Identity and children of God

“Where are you from?”
The dreaded question that brings about a little panic and an overly complicated answer for global citizens, commonly known as Third Culture Kids (TCK). A TCK is someone who has spent their formative years in a different cultural location that is not their parents’ home country. With the growth of globalisation, there has been a greater movement of people and their families to relocate for long periods to another country for work, education and other reasons.

Whilst there are benefits to speaking several languages, having a broader world view and being more culturally aware, it comes at the cost of having a ‘rootless’ identity as they are constantly moving locations and having to restart their lives again. Even though they can learn to cope quickly with transitions, many have come to recognise Jesus as a friend who has never left them so having firm foundations in Christ is vital to thrive in life.
Come and join us for a morning of learning from those working in education and support roles across Asia who help foster the growth of a relationship with Jesus in the young people. Find out about their journey, the impact they have had on TCKs and explore options on how you can serve. There will be quizzes, a time of biblical reflection and plenty of time for discussion and prayers.

  • We’ll be exploring:
What does it look like to live out our identity in Christ?
How can we help TCKs find their identity in Christ?
What can you do to support TCKs in your church, across the street or across the world?
